Marbach America Inc. is expanding its footprint in Indiana by 16,000 square feet at the Haskell Building in Michigan City.

Marbach America Inc. is a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of the Marbach Group, headquartered in Germany with over 1,500 employees worldwide. A global network of manufacturing and technical sales teams provides consistent quality production and services for all Marbach products. The location of a new manufacturing facility in the Midwestern US is in order to both meet the demands of their current customers and add additional production capacity for future business growth.  The company has 18 manufacturing sites worldwide, including US production operations in the Southeast and Midwest. The company manufactures tools and dies.

“We are delighted that Michigan City continues to attract global companies that are seeking a high quality of life, great workforce, and a progressive community,” said Michigan City Mayor Ron Meer. “My administration has worked tirelessly to promote Michigan City and will continue to work to bring more high paying jobs for our residents.”

Marbach America Inc. will be investing over $4 million and creating 30 new jobs with very competitive wages for the Michigan City facility.

Marbach America Inc.’s COO, Fernando Pires said, “Michigan City is very business friendly and made the process seamless. The tax abatement will allow us to further reduce the overall costs of this project and to demonstrate to our parent company in Germany that Michigan City, Indiana remains a favorable location for manufacturing. We are looking forward to being part of your community.”

The tax abatement was approved unanimously by the Michigan City Common Council at a meeting Tuesday night and will save the company about $102,512.00.

City of Michigan City officials and EDCMC staff working with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation representatives and Holladay Properties coordinate this team effort to make this project a success for the State of Indiana.
