The Economic Development Corporation Michigan City (EDCMC) serves as the primary resource for business in Michigan City, IN. As the first stop for existing and new business within the City, the EDCMC has built and maintains many valuable partnerships that serve as resources to our employers and the business community. It is our mission to develop and implement seamless policies, procedures, and programs for economic and community development that drive systematic and long-term viability through collaboration and consensus with our stakeholders and community resources. We wish to see Michigan City with a healthy and robust business environment!
Through our organization’s Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) program we strive to meet with our business community to ensure that our local businesses receive the necessary support and attention with their needs/issues to compete in the global marketplace. Our BR&E program offers assistance and provides information in the following areas:
- Local, regional, and national incentive programs
- Identify and market to supplier networks
- Workforce Development
- Educational Opportunities
- Small Business Assistance
- Updates about local infrastructure, business environment, and quality of life
- EDCMC acts as a liaison between local business and city government
Information about the local business community is collected by the EDCMC through BR&E visits with companies and through business surveys. The EDCMC staff looks forward to meeting with your business in the future and helping you with any needs your company may have.
If you would like to schedule a BR&E visit with our staff, please contact Katie Eaton, Economic Development Manager at Keaton@edcmc.com or 219-873-1211.
