The Economic Development Corporation Michigan City is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, self-starter for our Economic Development Manager position. This is the opportunity to serve one of the fastest growing communities in Northwest Indiana by attracting new companies, leading the efforts to retain and grow existing companies, and coordinating resources and information for the creation of new small businesses. With one of the most vibrant historic downtowns in Indiana, flourishing commercial developments, and new acreage for two planned industrial parks, the Economic Development Corporation is a fast paced team environment providing a great deal of variety and opportunities. The Economic Development office serves as the primary business resource, marketing and communication entity of a community to the business world.
The ideal candidate is left and right brained. We are looking for that utility player who is results-focused, likes to build relationships, write, design, think analytically, and manage projects, events and information. A typical day could see the Economic Development Manager writing press releases, making social media posts, meeting with businesses regarding real estate or workforce development, responding to Requests for Information and more.
