WELD 207  —  Gas Metal Arc (MIG) Welding (no prerequisites)

Hands-on experience with various gas metal welding (GMAW) processes including microwire, flux-core, inner shield, and submerged arc with emphasis on metal inert gas.  Techniques of welding in all positions on various thicknesses metal. Learn about shielding gases, American Welding Society structural steel visual acceptance criteria, safety, assessing defects and discontinuities in welds, flux cored welding techniques and aluminum welding.
